SUMMARY:
Sony’s latest offering is a stunner. At low ISO sensitivities it delivers images that are every bit as crisp and detailed as those from Canon’s EOS-1Ds MkIII and Nikon’s D3, but at a greatly reduced cost. We found the a900 for £1794 on one website, while the EOS-1Ds MkIII was £4589 and the D3 £2629.
The a900 perhaps isn’t a pro camera in the build-quality sense, and if you shoot in low light it certainly isn’t for you, but in all other respects it excels. Used with the right lenses, it will turn in beautifully exposed images, packed with detail, time after time.
